Windsurf Worldcup in Omaezaki 🇯🇵85', my dad became Worldchampion in Waveriding. It was really nice to come back to visit Japan after all those years, take part at the @appworldtour and win the Longdistance.The conditions were challenging, a lot of wind. This years @olukai race was definitely different to the other years. Rainy and onshore wind, but still really nice to be out there! I'm really happy finishing in 2nd place on a 14 foot board with less than a minute to first place.

I´m really happy to win the Long-distance off the The APP World Tour making a 3rd place overall. Congratulations to all the competitors and the APP World Tour for putting on a great event! I can´t wait for the next race!!

Great weekend in California at the Pacific Paddle Games. Amazing conditions & really high level. It was really nice to be part of this event. Couldn't give a 100% (souvenir from freezing Germany - a cold) but I definitely had fun surfing some nice waves and trying to manage that challenging race course through the waves and still managed to get a fifth place in den Surf Race.

The next weekend I could improve to a 3rd place overall in the world series on the northshore , Oahu

 " On the perfect wave/ The Surfer-Family Hönscheid" .

This film tells the surfing story of our family. How it all started in the 60´s to recent footage just before Christmas.

On behalf of the  ZDF  TV  Dieter " Didi" Brennecke from  "LibreMedia" Filmproduction came with a this team to Fuerteventura : Markus Prumbaum and Oliver Behrens. ( both camera) and  Axel Martin from "edithouse" ( camara and editing) .With the help of  Mario Entero and Danni on his jetski , 3 Go Pros , a quadcopter, the crew followed us for about 10 days windsurfing, surfing, supsurfing and of course shaping, the shop, living on Fuerteventura and more.......

We even could suggest some of the background music!  Don´t miss it:

Sunday 22nd February at 9.00  (8.00 Canarias ) in the morning at ZDF info and Monday 16th of March,  10.15 ( 9.15 Canarias).

Winning what is often called the hardest paddle race in the world is no easy feat. Hönscheid earned the Female Performance of the Year at the 2014 SUP Awards for her victory.

Bonus Performance: Hönscheid won the 17-mile downwind Na Pali Race on Kauai.”

(SAN CLEMENTE, CALIF.)— Standup paddling’s greatest athletes, philanthropists and filmmakers came together for a historic night with SUP Magazine at the 2014 SUP Awards presented by Tommy Bahama. With hundreds of guests gathered at the Casino in San Clemente, Calif., SUP Magazine and industry pros celebrated the top male and female paddlers, expeditions, philanthropic efforts and films of 2014.

Recognizing her impressive world championship win at the Molokai 2 Oahu, Sonni Hönscheid, was awarded Female Performance of the Year, alongside 2014 Male Paddler of the Year, Connor Baxter, who was honored with Male Performance of the Year for his win also in the Molokai 2 Oahu.

“I want to thank everyone for this award,” Hönscheid said. “This is so awesome!”
